Montes Estinphil is a native of Haiti. After high school and his freshman year in college at École Normale Supérieure, he traveled abroad to further his proficiency in English and other languages. In 2003, he traveled to Canada where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies at Burman University formerly known as Canadian University College (CUC) in 2007, a Master’s degree in Theology (MAT) in 2012 from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA, and a Master degree of Divinity commonly known as M.Div. from Houston Graduate School of Theology in Houston, Texas in 2018.
Chaplain Montes has been providing pastoral care in hospital settings since 2009. As a board-certified chaplain, he has mentored Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) residents, coached certification candidates, and served as a local church pastor. He is an ordained and endorsed Seventh-day Adventist chaplain. Additionally, Montes is an investor who enjoys engaging with the business community.
He serves women and men in uniform as a United States Naval Active-Duty Lieutenant Chaplain and president of Haiti Restoration while pursuing his PhD in Mind-Body Medicine at Saybrook Graduate School with a specialty in leadership.
Montes translates works in seven languages and regularly communicates in five of them. He enjoys traveling, taking a daily green or blue walk, and playing tennis.
