Rev. M. Oscar Hall Myles was born in Panama and raised on the island of San Andrés, Colombia. He earned his Licentiate in Theology from the International Baptist Seminary in Cali in 1978, followed by a Master of Divinity and a Doctorate in Theology from the Houston Graduate School of Theology. He also completed two years of Clinical Pastoral Education and has been a Board-Certified Chaplain since 1995.
For 34 years, Rev. Hall has served as a chaplain in the Texas Medical Center. He is currently a Senior Staff Chaplain at Houston Methodist Hospital and Senior Pastor of Iglesia Bautista Melrose. His hospital ministry focuses on Neurological Services, Behavioral Services, and End Stage Renal Disease. At his church, he ministers to a diverse congregation representing 10 Spanish-speaking countries.
Rev. Hall is passionate about equipping the Hispanic community in Houston and across Latin America with professional spiritual care skills. For 29 years, he has led spiritual care conferences at Houston Methodist for Hispanic pastors and Christian leaders. He has also participated in and led conferences on mental illness and behavioral health.
